Our friendly team of dentists take the time to really listen to you. They sincerely enjoy working with people of all ages and provide a supportive and welcoming experience.
All our dentists are licensed General Dentists, with certifications from the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C) and the National Dental Examining Board of Canada.
I was born in Tanzania and moved to Canada in 1972. I completed the Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Alberta. After graduating dental school in 1986, my wife Shenaz and I moved to Red Deer in 1987. I've operated the dental clinic in Parkland Mall ever since. I've been a member of the Alberta Dental Association for 30 years. I enjoy multiple aspects of dentistry and love providing overall care to families.
My hobbies include extensive volunteer service in the local community. I've promoted improving general health as the Chairman of the Aga Khan Health Board for Canada for seven years and promoted dental skills and service delivery enhancement for dental clinics in the Aga Khan Health services network in East Africa. I provide strategic inputs in improving care for seniors in assisted living and long-term care communities and have organized large community events, including the golden and diamond jubilee celebrations of the Aga Khan across Canada. I'm also a member of the advisory board of the Center for Peace and Justice at Burman University in Lacombe, Alberta. Hiking in the mountains are a favourite pastime and I speak at church and other civil society organizations on the subject of promoting pluralism in society.
My greatest satisfaction is derived from treating patients who are nervous or who have had bad experiences in the past. By being patient and using all the skills I have in being empathetic and gentle, I am often able to provide care that improves their quality of life. I am confident in having a strong team that shares my passion for providing the best care we can, in the most professional way we know how, to our community.
I was born and raised in South Korea, and moved to Canada when I was a middle school student to start a new chapter of my life. I went to W.R. Myers High School in Taber and obtained numerous awards and scholarships for academic achievements and volunteer works.
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry (Honours Thesis with Distinction) at the University of Lethbridge. During my undergraduate program, I have done numerous types of research ranging from computational chemistry to microbiology. I further expanded my education in Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of Alberta. I received research scholarships in Pediatric Dentistry and several outstanding achievement awards during my dental training.
I love doing general dentistry such as restorative, root canal therapy, extraction, diagnosis and pediatric dental work. I was a part of the Dentistry For All team to do a dental mission trip in Nicaragua in 2015. I am motivated to improve people's smiles, confidence, and esthetics. I am an active member of the Alberta Dental Association & College, and Canadian Dental Association. I put my dedication and heart into offering professional and compassionate dental care to patients.
My primary goal is to focus on patient-centered care and achieving great quality of dentistry. When I am not practising my passion of dentistry, I spend most of my time with my lovely family and friends.
Originally from Regina, Saskatchewan, Dr. Rochelle Zachow moved to pursue her studies at the University of Saskatoon where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction and then Doctor of Dental Medicine with Great Distinction.
Dr. Zachow moved to beautiful Red Deer, Alberta, with her husband shortly after graduation in 2001 and joined the team at Parkland Mall Dental Centre that same year. She finds her work very satisfying in helping people of all ages achieve and maintain good oral health.
Currently, Dr. Zachow is a proud member of the Central Alberta Dental Society as well as the Spear Education Study Group. She has volunteered in Mexico City to provide much needed dental services to underprivileged children in the region.
When she's not working at the clinic, Dr. Zachow loves to read, travel and spend time with her family. Most of her spare time is spent as a dedicated “hockey mom” cheering on and volunteering for their two children's teams.
